Ko-Fi and Commission Prices

Hello Everyone,

I had recently made a Ko-Fi account to help support my art as well as schooling (since I am going to University next year). I will be drawing art and gifts for my supporters (depending on how many ‘coffee’s you buy).
Buy Me a Coffee at ko-fi.com

Ko-Fi is like a virtual tip jar, where you ‘buy a coffee’ for your favourite content creators. In a way it’s similar to patreon but it doesn’t include paying every month.

Another thing is, I have finally completed listing my commission prices and website. It is filled with the different types of commissions you can get from me and the prices of each. It will be updated constantly with my prices if they change. So whenever my commissions are opened, I will use the site.

Seika’s Character Collection

Hello Everyone,

This is just a short blog to introduce my new character collection weebly, it’s a website that features all information, art, and bios of my original characters, fan characters, and personas.

I figured to create a site to showcase my OCs bio and backstories so I can link from my site instead of having to copy paste the info over and over again. Basically its my OC masterlist.

It is incomplete so some info is missing and not all characters are there yet.

It features all art I have done + recieved from people, bios, and ref sheets + colour palettes. Just a place where I can put all information of all my OCs (plus making websites is fun ;3 )

So if you ever wanted a full complete bio and art of my OCs just visit the site.

Tutorial – Crawling into Reality

Hello everyone. Recently I did a series of photographs and artworks for my photography class at school (See them here). I chose to do Mixed Media Digital Painting, and I also had to do a tutorial on how to do it.

So I thought why not share it here too.

Here is the finished product

(It was kind of rushed cause I had to get it all done for my class)

Speedpaint available here

After taking the photograph, I open Gimp to edit the image. Play with the hue and saturation levels until you get the desired effects. Use the burn and dodge tools to lighten or darken certain areas. After editing, export the image so it turns into a PNG file.

Drawing Tutorial

Step 1 – Open up the program of your choice

****I will be using Paint Tool Sai

Step 2 – Create a new layer above the photo

Step 3 – Sketch your person/idea onto that layer

****Use different colours for sketching, so when you do lineart, it’s easier to see it.

****Always create new layers when sketching new things (New layer for hair, new layer for clothes, new layer for face, etc)

****Create a folder and put all the sketch layers in it to keep track of them

****You can also turn down the opacity of the bottom layer so you can see the sketch better

Step 4 – Start sketching the body and pose of the character

Step 5 – Sketch the hair onto a new layer in another colour

Step 6 – Sketch the clothes and extras onto new layers with new colours each time.

****If there is something you don’t like about the sketch, feel free to go back onto the layer and change things

Step 7 – Erase lines that shouldn’t be visible

Hair lines behind body or clothes, etc

Step 8 – Turn the sketch folder’s opacity down until you can faintly see the sketch

****I hid the background layer so I could see the sketch better when I turn the opacity down to line it

Step 9 – Use your lineart brush or pen and start lining

****Make sure you create a folder for the lineart layers and the folder is at the top

****After you finish lining, hide the sketch folder

Colouring Tutorial

Step 1 – Once you’ve finished lining, you can start colouring. Create a folder for the colour layers

****Make sure the folder is above the sketch folder and under the lineart folder

Step 2 – First, do the flat colour

****I colour using darker, more grey tones as the image itself is quite dark

Step 3 – Add light shading

Step 4 – Add darker shading

****Use colours that are a shade or few shades darker than the light shade

Step 5 – Repeat step 4 with a darker colour

Step 6 – Add highlights from the bright screen and shade the parts of the screen behind the character to make it seem more believable

And there you have it. I hope it helped! I’m not the best at explaining things.

You don’t have to only draw your character coming out from a screen, you can do anything you want with this technique.

Crawling into Reality

These images were done for my photography class, I chose to do mixed media digital painting. Something I haven’t done before, so I decided to try it out, I will be doing more of these in the future because they are fun to do.

The Evolution of Seika

Hey guys.
I thought I’d do a blog about my main persona, Seika.

Seika isn’t my oldest or first sona/oc, since she’s only been around in the middle of last year, but she has gone through many changes, and this blog will show you the ways she was before now.

Soo….. prepare yourself for some (cringy) old art.

First Appearance

This was done on the 30th of May, 2015.
Originally, she had black hair and brown eyes like I did in real life, as she was my persona, so I tried to make her appearance similar to mine (she has super long hair too). She was not very developed and even lacked a backstory. There’s not much to her at this time, she was very underdeveloped since I was still trying to make a perfect sona.
The pen she was holding allowed her creations to come to life whenever she drew on her sketchbook. The bulb on the top changes colour with whatever colour she picks out to draw with, and the pen can grow or shrink. Originally, her wings were able to change forms in certain circumstances.

Second Appearance

This one was done on the 10th of March, 2016
This was her second appearance, it was still one of my development stages, so she wasn’t really complete, or have a bio yet. This was a short colour ref of her, when I was planning out her colours. And again, I made her similar to me, but the eyes were different this time. Her right eye was red and pink, while her left one was purple and blue.

Third Appearance

This one was done on the 12th of March, 2016
This was one of her appearances where I made her an actual ref sheet. Her eyes were the same as her 2nd appearance, and it could change colour depending on her mood (getting darker the angrier she gets, the lighter, the happier). Her hair went from all black to having pink, purple, and blue ombre in her hair, and it was braided. This was also the first form to have the ‘butterfly’ tattoo on her back that summons wings.

Fourth Appearance

This was done on the 1st of May, 2016
This was my first attempt at using prismacolour pencils, and I was testing colours and redesigning Seika, this was the first time I decided to add ears and a tail on her. Her eye colour and hair colour has changed. For her hair, I got rid of the black entirely, and the eyes became blue and purple.

Fifth Appearance

This one was done on the 3rd of May
This was the design I finally decided on from the previous one, I decided to do a lion/traditional unicorn tail for her cause I wanted her to have a tail that could be used as a paintbrush. Her hairstyle was simpler (and easier to draw xD). I got rid of the black in her hair and it was just a pink, blue, and purple ombre.

Sixth Appearance

This one was done on the 17th of June, 2016
And finally, her FINAL EVOLUTION….. yeah, there’s not much to say about her. All the info is in her bio.
And this was the stage where I got this idea for the Akai-iro species, I brainstormed and got ideas throughout several weeks and slowly started developing them more.
